Dr. Paul E. Koch
Principal Researcher
Dr. Paul Koch is the founder and principal researcher for the Plastics Services Network. As a Graduate from The University of Massachusetts - Lowell, Dr Koch has obtained industry experience with 3M, Standard Oil, Avery International, and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Engineering for PSU Behrend. Dr. Koch has research projects extending into all facets of the plastics industry and has served office terms for the Society of Plastics Engineers and Penn State University.
Michael Alabran
Technical Director
Michael Alabran obtained his bachelors degree in Plastics Engineering Technology from Penn State University. He then obtained his masters degree in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a strong concentration in polymer processing and design. He has research experience and expertise in micro injection molding, high-rate nano-manufacturing, permeation in flexible packaging, and the silinosis coupling of polyethylene polymer chains. Michael Alabran’s responsibilities include customer networking, project management, new product development, material characterization and research, Moldflow analysis, and Pro/E design.
John Williams
Operations Manager
John A Williams obtained his bachelors degree in Plastics Engineering Technology from Penn State University in 2006. He also received a certificate in Plastics Technology from the Erie County Technical School in 2002. His research consists of Permeation in passive and active packages with Oxygen, Moisture, and other gasses. His responsibilities include project management, material characterization, product development, and day-to-day operations at the Plastics Services Network.
